The 21YM updates were comprehensive, starting with 3kW more peak power for the EURO5-spec engine, and an extra 600rpm to the redline. Making the X-ADV even cooler and more desirable in the process. In 21YM Honda upped the X-ADV’s engine performance, trimmed weight, enhanced style and added even more usefulness. Here are a few pics I shot and edited of the new R.Model updates: The ground-breaking X-ADV – after a comprehensive update for 21YM which injected more power while reducing weight, gets three new contemporary colour options for 22YM. I loved my Evo's and the Golf R really brings back that unique feeling you get with a turbo 4. I will say I have missed the AWD Turbo and getting into a Golf R brings me back to my roots. Prior to that had 2 Evo's with the last one having an upgraded turbo, meth kit, tuned to 31psi and put down 473whp and 411wtq. To be honest, I don't think i'll last more than a few months lol I'm coming from a supercharged E92 M3 that had 500+whp. I told myself I wouldn't do anything right away, especially since VW made their warranty so much better the past few years. Trying EXTREMELY hard to not void the warranty. I do miss rowing gears at times but I think I'll be happy with my decision long term. I honestly never drove a dual clutch (prior to test driving a DSG GTI recently), and in the back of my mind always thought it was a hyped up "automatic", but it actually has a lot of character and is really fun and enjoyable. 10+ years of manual cars and after test driving a DSG GTI I was really surprised how well the dual clutch felt. Needless to say I pulled the trigger on it.Īnother switch from someone who was a die hard manual driver and now jumped into a DSG. I kept searching and found the exact one PLUS with the black Pretorias, which I preferred, in Maryland for $1.5k under MSRP. I originally found a 2019 Indium Grey at the dealer by my house but they where asking $3.5k over MSPR and wouldn't budge. Picked up a new 2019 Golf R a few weeks ago.
